Focus Data Solutions’ “All Staff Week” is a Huge Success
Focus Data Solutions’ team came together for its first “All Staff Week” at the end of March for five days of training and team building.
The Focus Data Solutions staff works in a hybrid model. Most employees work for two days in-office and three days on remote. This model was adopted to enable our team to continue some of the benefits of remote work while fostering the collaborative environment that existed prior to the pandemic.
Chief Operations Officer Dean Genberg, working with team managers, planned the week. “We wanted everyone to have an opportunity to learn from each other and have some fun in a face-to-face environment,” Genberg said. “Virtual meetings are great and convenient, but they are not the same as working together as a team.”
The week consisted of training sessions on security, cloud services and network management. The FDS staff also came together for an All-Staff Lunch Meeting. There, the group heard about Focus Data Solutions plans and learned about specific projects and company-wide activities.
Team members worked in real time to problem solve, create new processes and trouble-shoot client tickets.
A highlight of the week was the Team Ticket Challenge. Focus Data Solutions Team 2, took home the Ticket Challenge Gold Medal. “Our productivity soared,” said Sr. IT Solutions Manager Jasmine Bazemore. “We have some competitive people on our staff!”
Focus Data Solutions’ staff celebrated the week with a bowling night at Bowlero, in Arlington, VA. Paul McClure, our Business Development Manager, planned the after-hours event. “It was great to be able to have some fun outside of the office,” said Tamera Thom, Proactive Solutions Manager. “Our bowling outing gave us the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and learn more about each other. We have some great bowlers!”
The next All Staff Week is scheduled for June 28, 2023. “We will have a few new team members by then. This is a great way to introduce them to everyone and offer an opportunity to learn more about Focus Data Solutions,” said Genberg.
